AeroBarrier Connect Wins a 2021 Best of IBSx Award for Most Innovative Software
Air Sealing System Has Earned Awards from Annual Builders’ Show Competition in 2018, 2020, 2021
The AeroBarrier Connect air sealing system was singled out by the Best of IBS judges earlier this year, winning an award for Most Innovative Software. The 9th annual competition recognizes the best products in home construction, judging them on innovation, functionality, design, and builder/consumer-friendliness. AeroBarrier Connect competed with more than 200 different entries for an award in one of six different categories.
Redesigned, Relaunched at IBS
AeroBarrier Connect represents a complete redesign of the air sealing technology and sets the new standard for air sealing. The technology is faster and more precise, making it more efficient and cost-effective.
AeroBarrier Connect’s software was updated to support the system’s new smart nozzle stations, which now work independently from each other. Using a mesh network, the software collects data wirelessly from the stations’ temperature and humidity sensors. This allows the main control unit to customize sealant delivery to each room, while the software tracks and records progress in real-time, to ensure less sealant waste and faster air sealing.
“With the 2021 award, AeroBarrier becomes the only product
to win four categories across three different IBS shows.”
Best of IBS — Tracking Industry Innovation Since 2013
This is the third year AeroBarrier’s technology has earned an award.
Launched at NAHB 2018, AeroBarrier won Overall Best in Show after securing the Most Innovative Building Material category. This was followed in 2020 with a Best Green Building Product win. And with the 2021 award, AeroBarrier becomes the only product to win four categories across three different IBS shows.
In addition to comments from the judges, AeroBarrier Connect is getting a lot of industry attention.
This includes building science experts like Matt Whitbeck, owner of Whitbeck Construction, who was impressed by the new design.
“AeroBarrier Connect finds all the tiny gaps and cracks we can’t access or see,” said Whitbeck. “It’s a great system approach to air sealing.”
