AeroBarrier’s Boost Makes Multifamily Air Sealing Up To 65% Faster
New, Additive Technology Allows for Dramatically Faster, Incredibly Effective Multifamily Air Sealing
DAYTON, OHIO, May 30, 2022 – AeroBarrier is redefining multifamily air sealing with its new accessory – Boost. Boost allows AeroBarrier Connect users to air seal two multifamily units at once – up to 65% faster than sealing the units individually.
Boost turns air sealing – a common pain point for many multifamily projects – into an opportunity for builders and air sealing contractors alike. It allows for faster than ever compartmentalization of individual units to drastically reduce air leakage through party walls, reaching airtightness goals every time.
“With labor and material challenges continuing to impact the entire multifamily industry, finding segments of work that can be done faster to keep construction projects on schedule without sacrificing quality is critical,” said Mark Keeton, AeroBarrier vice president, and general manager. “Boost is in direct response to this feedback from multifamily builders and air sealing contractors across North America. Helping improve the build with our air sealing technology is AeroBarrier’s constant, exacting focus.”
Award-Winning Air Sealing Technology
As shown above, Boost is a minimal hardware and software addition paired with the AeroBarrier Connect air sealing system. The Wye Duct Splitter and Auxiliary Remote Pressure Sensors (ARPS) are a simple addition to the typical AeroBarrier Connect setup.
Once the sealing stations are deployed in each unit, the interior spaces are pressurized using a blower door and a high-powered centrifugal fan. A mist of safe, non-toxic sealant based on each unit’s specific heat and humidity is sprayed into the space and follows the pressurized air escaping through leaks and seals them automatically. Using a mesh network, the ARPS and sealing stations relay progress in real-time, to ensure less sealant waste and faster air sealing.
AeroBarrier Connect seals leaks visible or not, up to ½”, and as small as a human hair. The software monitors the entire process in real-time, allowing any airtightness goal to be achieved. A certificate of completion with before and after results is then created for each unit’s construction records.
