Aeroseal Highlighted in Bill Gates’ Annual Letter
Aeroseal is incredibly proud to have been identified in Bill Gates’ annual Gates Notes letter as a company that will play a critical role in our collective fight against climate change.
Homes and buildings represent a surprisingly huge source of carbon emissions – representing nearly 14% of all greenhouse gases. But as much as 40% of this is wasted, largely due to leaky ductwork and building envelopes. Our patented technologies directly address these leaks and inefficiencies through pressurizing the ductwork or the building envelope to carry our non-toxic, water-based sealant formula to any visible or invisible leak point. We measure before and after leakage to understand the impact.
While the technologies may sound simple – the results can be enormous. Sealing a house’s ductwork is the equivalent of planting 50 trees and sealing five houses equates to taking one car off the road. Our technologies have a chance to be a major weapon in this battle. By becoming a default solution in all homes and buildings, Aeroseal can be a gigacorn – reducing carbon emissions by 1 gigaton annually.
It is critical that we battle climate change on all fronts – including the built environment – to meet net-zero commitments. We are in a race against time, with the best science telling us that to avoid the worst impacts of global warming – we must globally achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. It’ll take a village but is possible through innovation and solutions that are deployed at a scale that addresses these challenges.
Our team feels an obligation each day to do our part in this collective fight and make a difference in the world.
