Aeroseal Part of $4.7 Million in Improvements for Clinton Prairie School
Breaking news from the Clinton County Daily News in Frankfort, IN: Clinton Prairie School Gets $4.7 Million in Improvements… and Aeroseal duct sealing played a major role in the savings tally!
The Aeroseal duct sealing crew completed its work in June of 2018 by sealing a whopping 19,016 cfm of air leakage. The project was completed in just seven days, without any disruption to the facility. A total of seven air handling unit systems were sealed from the inside using the patented aerosol sealing system. This will provide a large energy savings to the school district. In addition, Duke energy provided a custom energy rebate of $1,748 that included roofing, duct sealing and the building envelope sealing.
The Aeroseal work was part of a larger $4.7 million energy performance contract, which uses guaranteed savings to offset the cost of the projects. Upgrades were implemented during the school’s off-hours to avoid class and learning disruptions, and final project elements were completed in March 2019.
Johnson Controls Inc. (JCI) was the ESCO (Energy Services Company) that coordinated and guaranteed the project results.
