Meet Matt: A Sales Manager Who Is All In

Since Matt’s first day at Aeroseal three years ago, he has been all in. Literally. He was given a plane ticket, and sent to the airport, to attend a week-long trade show – after being on the job just 30 minutes. “Aeroseal is a company for people who are willing to get down to business immediately.”

Before Aeroseal, Matt managed new business sales for a legal research company. When he saw the need for a new challenge, he applied at Aeroseal. He was initially interested in the opportunities Aeroseal offers him including business travel and working with larger companies. He’s since become just as interested in the company’s mission – decarbonizing buildings.

Part of Aeroseal’s Mission

Aeroseal can’t achieve its mission if its customers are not successful. So, Matt makes sure contractors who have invested in AeroBarrier have what they need to succeed. As AeroBarrier’s Network Development Manager, Matt develops the sales resources and support network for AeroBarrier partners, helping them use AeroBarrier to build their business.

To make sure dealers can succeed, Matt is hands-on. He is a self-described “boots-on-the-ground” kind of guy. This lets him see what’s happening in the marketplace firsthand. Matt feels valued at Aeroseal for his unique perspective and knows it makes for a more efficient team and a more successful company.

Say It and Mean It

“Although it’s the value I struggle with the most, I find that doing what you say to be the most important. We’re only as good as our word and this is a great responsibility.”

Matt values his fellow Aeromates and the work everyone does – moving together towards the same goal. He likes that everyone is aligned to one mission.

“We are a team that moves in sync, always in the same direction, pivoting the same way when needed.”

Matt also appreciates that Aeroseal does not expect employees to stay put in the same position they had when joining the team. There are many opportunities for growth and moving upward within the company.

To Be His Best Self

Matt wakes up every morning at 4:30am for some exercise and then gets his family ready for school.

“Once I attack the morning, the rest of the day falls in line.”

He starts his day at Aeroseal with a team meeting where everyone aligns for the day’s work. Each team member sets their own day based on their goals. He finds himself taking more and more tasks throughout the day because the job makes it fun. And he likes collaborating with his team members.

Taking advantage of the on-site gym has been huge for re-centering himself when things get overwhelming. Aeroseal offers many avenues for employees to blow off steam and stay fresh, including a pool table, ping pong tables as well as a courtyard for walks outside. You will never hear the words “get back to work” here.
