One of the trip’s highlights was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Aeroseal and Aramco, one of the world’s leading integrated energy and chemicals companies. This agreement aims to accelerate the deployment of Aeroseal’s ground-breaking air-sealing technologies across Saudi Arabia. The MOU represents a strategic effort to combat energy waste and reduce carbon emissions, a crucial step towards achieving the Kingdom’s goal of Net Zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This agreement highlights Aeroseal’s leadership in promoting sustainability on a global scale.
Building on a Solid Foundation of Collaboration
Aeroseal’s collaboration with Aramco builds on a solid foundation of previous successful installations in flagship buildings such as King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and King Saud University. The ongoing relationship with Aramco Ventures, which participated in Aeroseal’s $67.5M Series B raise in July 2023, further reinforces the strong partnership and shared commitment to advancing climate tech innovations.
Expanding Technological Reach and Localizing Supply Chains
Aeroseal’s innovative duct and building envelope sealing technologies, which significantly reduce air leakage and enhance energy efficiency, have already demonstrated success in Saudi Arabia. The MOU opens doors for exploring new opportunities, including accelerating the deployment of Aeroseal’s technology in various building fleets, conducting joint testing of building ductwork and envelopes nationwide, and even extending the technology’s application to gas pipelines.
Furthermore, the MOU includes efforts to localize Aeroseal’s supply chain in Saudi Arabia, ensuring that the benefits of Aeroseal’s innovations are widespread and integrated into buildings across the country. In a testament to Aerosael’s MOU with Aramco, and our commitment to energy efficiency, building performance, and decarbonization in Saudi Arabia and across the Middle East, Mr. Guppta was also invited to attend the “Trade Talks: Hydrogen Horizons – Powering Today’s Energy Transition” event hosted at the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, in collaboration with the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies & Research Center (KAPSARC) on May 16, 2024. This informative program focused on hydrogen technologies and featured distinguished speakers from the Saudi Ministry of Energy, Saudi Aramco, SABIC, Neom Green Hydrogen Co. (NGHC), ENOWA, and leading American companies such as Air Products, Cummins, ExxonMobil, and Honeywell, and it was an honor to be invited to sit among such industry leaders
U.S. Ambassador Michael Ratney praised the event for bringing together experts across industry, government, and academia to support Saudi Arabia’s clean energy goals.
