#trending: Solar Power Momentum Continues to Grow
Aeroseal Duct Sealing Improves Installation Process for Residential and Commercial Projects
Like everything today, trade show season is different thanks to COVID. But with solar industry trade shows joining our show schedule this year, including The Energy Expo and The Solar Power International show, it’s encouraging to see the international momentum behind this alternative energy source.
Here are just a few examples from across the country.
California Energy Commission mandates solar + storage on new commercial buildings, Solar Power World: California is “the first state in the country to require builders to install solar and battery storage on new commercial buildings and high-rise multifamily buildings.” It also updated the building code to require new single-family homes to be built “battery ready.”
Largest Solar Project in New Jersey Generates Clean Energy, Power & Energy Solutions: The Toms River Solar Project “will generate enough clean energy to meet the needs of 5,250 New Jersey homes. This is equivalent to avoiding more than 30,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually, which equates to the greenhouse gas emissions associated with driving 6,400 cars for one year.”
Aeroseal duct sealing reduces energy consumption by as much as 30%
— more than a new smart thermostat and LED lightbulbs combined.
What is the Significance of Potential Solar PPA Legislation in Florida?, Solar Today: Solar United Neighbors, a national non-profit helping people go solar, is leading a campaign to “help Florida schools, government buildings, churches, and other non-profit organizations go solar via power purchase agreements (PPAs).”
And while bipartisan infrastructure legislation is helping jumpstart energy storage, it looks like we’ll need even more investment in generating solar power to decarbonize the electric grid by 2035.
Why is Aeroseal Exhibiting at Solar Industry Trade Shows?
Our technology is used by solar contractors across the country to reduce energy consumption in homes and buildings during the installation process. Research shows most of these structures, new and old, have leaky ductwork. And by targeting leaky ducts in HVAC systems, they’re addressing one of the home’s largest and most common wastes of energy.
In fact, Aeroseal duct sealing reduces energy consumption by as much as 30% — more than a new smart thermostat and LED lightbulbs combined. Reducing a home’s energy use before installing solar is critical for a more efficient and effective solar energy system. And by packaging it as part of installation, the contractor and homeowner/facility manager benefit.
